Digital Natives and Immigrants

Image
Prensky’s Digital Native/Immigrant Divide: Marc Prensky has made the terms “digital natives” and “digital immigrants” to categorize people based on how familiar they are with technology. Digital natives are people born into a world with technology and can effortlessly navigate their way through it. Digital immigrants are those who adapted later in life, but still often struggle to keep up with it.  This divide between the two affects how students learn. Digital natives are more comfortable with technology, benefiting with immediate access to information, multimedia, and interactive platforms. Which can lead to increased engagement and personalized learning experiences. While digital immigrants face more challenges. They don’t have full potential of technology, and they struggle to connect with the digital native students. The divide between the two creates a gap in the teachers expectations for their students, and makes the teaching/learning dynamics difficult to access. https://ww...

My Experience With The Knapp's Relational Model

Image
This blog is about my relationships with the people in my life, and where one the model we are. I was trying to decide which relationship I should talk about. One is a developing relationship with my girlfriends, and the other is a dying relationship with one of my best friends. But I have decided to go with the dying relationship, because I have a lot to say about that one.

Some negative influences are: - Cyberbullying: it can be a platform for cyberbullying, harassment, and hate speech, and those things can lead to depression and even in some cases suicide.  - Fake New: people can spread false information and that can have real world consequences. - Social Comparison: people can compare their followers and likes...

About Me

Image
Hello everyone! My name is Kiyre.  I am from Anchorage, Alaska, which is a pretty small town, but I am currently living on campus at Oregon State University. I am working towards my bachelors degree currently. I am just starting out, so I am a freshman, and I am majoring in animal science. I chose that animal science because I hope to work as a veterinarian someday.  I love all animals so much, like my dog for example.  The picture I have there is my dog. His name is Yasha and he is 8 months old, and my favorite thing in the world. He is back home in Alaska while I am here in Oregon, and I miss him so much already. But I am very excited to one day be able to take care of pets like him. But for just this term I am hoping to learn new and cool things, while also maintaining good grades, so I can one day get into vet school. Some random facts about me is that I love One Direction, and Louis is my favorite, I was a gymnast for several years, and I love going to concerts....
