Larries Vs Antis
The argument I chose to write about is one that I found on Reddit between larries and antis. For context larries are people who believe that two of the members in One Direction, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles, were secretly dating while in the band. And antis are those who do not believe that. I chose this argument because I know about the topic. Although the one chosen is fairly short, there have been many and there are even more examples in the comment section.

They argue negatively, and these are three examples of it:
- Name Calling: In the example used they call the other an idiot, or delusional.
- Sarcasm: Sarcasm never helps get your point across, it can cause further confusion.
- Jumping to Conclusions: In terms of this argument, one persons case was that Harry looked happy, when in reality you have no idea what he was really thinking or how he really felt.
I was asked to come up with 5 rules for how people should argue online correctly. These are the rules I have come up with:
- Respect: Show respect for others even when you disagree. Avoid personal attacks and aggressive language.
- Listen: Try to actively listen to what the other has to say, and try to understand their perspective.
- Constructive Criticism: Offer meaningful constructive criticism instead of blindly attacking the other person.
- Provide Facts: Your argument needs to make sense and can be backed up by evidence and facts to support your claim.
- Closure: You can respectfully end the argument by agreeing to disagree.
